Historically the Estate had three high quality dairy farms, Dalton Old Hall, Coat Green and Russell Farm, but over the last 30 years they have moved out of dairy and into beef and sheep production.

Farming has always been cyclical and the new tenants of Coat Green, Russell Farm and Henridding Andrew & Margaret Smith with their children Rebecca and James are already established dairy farmers looking to expand.

Coat Green – reverting to a modern dairy business grazing the spring calved cows intensively on a grass based system

Dalton Old Hall – a tenanted mixed beef and sheep farm run by Nigel Barker

Russell Farm – land for rearing heifer replacements and feed for the Coat Green operation

Henridding – land for the grazing of youngstock and rearing of beef cattle in support of Coat Green operation
